There have been several reported attacks by ‘dingoes’ on Fraser Island, including most recently in April 2011 a three year old girl in sand dunes at Hook Point. Local tourist agencies provide very appropriate and cautionary advice to tourists visiting Fraser Island. [The Boxatrix Hervey Bay and Fraser Island website provides general tourism information on the Fraser Coast in south east Queensland, Australia.]
